Welcome this DELICIOUS single-producer coffee from Tolima, Colombia. This is our current house espresso, but this coffee is also yummy as a more developed drip or pour-over. It also goes great with cream or milk.
Jorge is a member of ASOPEP (Asociación de Productores Ecológicos de Planadas), and not just a well-known producer in Planadas, Tolima, Colombia, but worldwide. He’s extremely dedicated to each and every step of his crop. Whether it's an obsession with the genetics and variety of coffee, to the healthy homemade, organic soil, to the actual growing of the trees and meticulous picking and processing, Jorge has it all dialed in. He even knows how to roast and is a trained cupper. He’s a dream “package” if you will, which is how he got his nickname “Sobrete”. Jorge placed 3rd overall in the 2022 Cup of Excellence competition in Colombia so he’s a rising star in our eyes!
This lot in particular is 100% Caturra and it just SHINES in the cup. This is mostly accredited to Jorge’s perfect and exact processing technique, which is unique, and the results… Well, let’s just say the coffee speaks for itself. Jorge does something mimicking a double fermentation before fully washing the coffee and then carefully drying it in specific stages. As mentioned before, he’s dialed in.
